NetBrand Network Design

You are hired as network consultants to design a network for a new innovation company called CollaborativeThinking in Viborg. You should work together 2&2 or 3&3 in teams to design and document a solution for the company.

In each team you need to discuss the case and how you will design the network and find the best solution.

CollaborativeThinking

CollaborativeThinking is a medium size business, with one Headquarter and 2 branch offices within Viborg. The design should be secure and follow best practices in design and implementation.

Design Requirements

CollaboratinveThinking have the following requirements for the design:

  • 1 Headquarter supporting 100 users
  • 2 Branches each supporting 20 users.
  • The braches are connected with Serial Connections emulating a WAN
  • The network should have a Hierarchical design
  • The design should follow Cisco Enterprise Architecture Model
  • Seperation of Mangement, Server and Data traffic
  • Device & Network security following Best-Practice
  • IP Addressing plan with as few wasted address as possible
  • No subnet should contain more than 20 hosts
  • Support for IPv4 & IPv6
  • Dynamic Routing Protocols

Network Documentation

The network documentation should include:

  • a diagram of the network with all the needed information for implementation and troubleshooting.
  • a brief description of the protocols you've decided to use and why they have been choosen.
  • Code Snippets of how you would configure the different protocols and security implementations.

Network Diagrams

  • Logical network diagrams should be a part of Your delivery
    • Due to time limitations, however, You don't have to deliver fully configured Packet Tracer implementations.
  • You can consider using Packet Tracer as a tool for designing the solution, without any detailed configuration needed.
  • A better tool for designing network diagrams would be Microsoft Visio. Download free student version here!
