Tuesday 1. March	Theme: Server2012 R2 roles and features - Build a 'company'! Lessons Introduction to DNS and NetBIOS in an Active Directory Environment Introduction to Microsoft's Active Directory - Directory Services Best practices for structuring Organizational Units Introduction to Active Directory user –and computer accounts NTFS/Share walkthrough and demonstration - check this example network! Active Directory Groups and Access Management best practices Case tasks in workshop Installing and configuring AD DS and DNS services - download a tasks list here! Configuring 'company' OU structure, users and computers Configuring security groups and assigning user rights Create 'company' file shares and configure share and NTFS permissions
Wednesday 2. March	Theme: Internet Information Services, IIS 8.5 - Create a web-hosting center! Lessons Basic introduction to Internet Information Services 8.5 - check the chosen book for IIS here! Introduction to terms like API, .NET, Services, logging, bindings ... How to manage websites How to manage application pools Troubleshooting tips: How to start, stop and restart web services etc. How to configure web server network adapters & bindings Best practices Case tasks and workshop Install IIS 8.5 and configure several websites Configure DNS records for your new sites Configure bindings for your sites Configure integrated authentication Configure host header redirction Add an extra network adapter - and make it work!
Thursday 3. March	Theme: Services, certificates and Ascom Ward application install! Lessons Introduction to Windows Services Functionality of services regarding web servers & applications API running as a service? Services and Ascom Applications - best practice? Introduction to Microsoft Certificate Services What's a certificate, and what's the idea? Different types of certificates and their function Introduction to certificates mmc.exe, handeling and best practice Introduction to certificates role on IIS 8.5 Afternoon: Morten Riis from Ascom Denmark will join us today Introduction to the installation procedure of Ascom Ward application Case tasks and workshop Aquire certificates for your sites and install them Work with certificates through mmc.exe Plan your 'company's way to handle certificates after best practice Installation of Ascom Ward application on group servers!
